Description:

These long-handled items with a pouring lip were often used to serve hot liquids.  The long handle allowed the cup to be dipped into large deep containers of hot liquids without the danger of scalding the person serving.

Some of these types of ladle are used to heat water over a fire and then to pour the water into a cup for Turkish Coffee.
