Description:
The Mercedes Benz 500K was first introduced at the Berlin Auto show in 1934 by Hans Nibel and Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. The “K” stands for Kompressor or supercharger with 160 horsepower and a top speed of 110mph.
This is a quote from Autocar after testing a 500K in 1936, “This is a master car, for the very few. The sheer insolence of its great power affords an experience on its own.”
Only 59 of these cars were made from 1934 to 1936 as they were produced to a very high standard which only the wealthy were able to afford. To this day these classic cars are very sought after and when they do come up for sale can sell for over £1 million pounds.
