Hello and welcome to the Memory Box Project Online website.
Sister-project to the original Memory Box Project (MBP) started by the Wessex Heritage Trust in 2016, our aim is to make the collection and resources gathered and created by MBP more widely available by sharing them online.
This dedicated website has been created to showcase our collection of items relating to social history within living memory which have been used in Memory Boxes across Hampshire and Dorset over the last 4 years.
Gathered under the Themes introduced by MBP and their physical boxes, you can now browse through our collection online, learn more about their history and save items to your own personal ‘Favourites’ folder which you can come back to every time you log in.
We invite you to share any of your own stories or memories relating to the collection with us and other site visitors too – you can do this by filling in the form at the bottom of an item page. Your entry will then be shown on the website alongside that item for others to see, learn from and maybe even remember too.
If you are using the online collection for reminiscence you can also have a look at our Resources page for advice, information and downloadable activities.
We hope you enjoy using the Memory Box Project Online website and all our items and resources. If you have any questions or suggestions for new collections, you can reach us via the Contact page.
