Description:
OXO beef stock cubes – Diamond Jubilee Tin.
The first Oxo cubes were developed in 1910 to be a more affordable version of their liquid stock (sold for a penny each) and it has since become a kitchen cupboard staple.
During the First World War over 1 million Oxo cubes were provided to the armed forces.
This particular OXO tin commemorates its diamond jubilee in 1985. An inscription on the tin reads – “George V came to the throne in 1910 and it was this momentous year that saw the introduction of the now famous Oxo Cube. After three generations, Oxo is still a essential part of good home cooking and we celebrate our first 75 years by bringing you this special commemorative tin.”
