Description:

Traditional game of jacks for one or more players comprising several jacks and a ball. The game has ancient origins, going back 2000 years when pebbles or sheep knuckle bones were used as jacks! Over time the jacks came to be the 6-pronged metal ones pictured and the ball was made of rubber. The object of the game is to scatter the jacks, bounce the ball and, while it is in the air, pick up a jack with the same hand. On the next bounce, the player must pick up two jacks, and so on. When the player misses, the next player takes a turn. There are variations to the rules, such as clapping hands before picking up the jacks.
