Description:

This tin shows adverts for a variety of Kellogg’s cereals including Corn Flakes, Whole Wheat Flakes, Rice Krispies and Pep Bran Flakes.

Pep was a whole wheat breakfast cereal which was popular in the 1930s. It was especially popular with children as it sponsored The Adventures of Superman radio series. It was discontinued in the late 1970s.

Rice Krispies were first made in 1928 and the famous “Snap, Crackle and Pop” slogan was first used in 1939 along with the cartoon elf-like characters of the same name.

The images are all from vintage adverts.

Kellogg’s holds a Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth and the Prince of Wales, meaning they supply the royal household.
